Access/ Inspect Construction Sites

Only employees with the requisite safety training and assigned job responsibilities that require them to enter construction sites on University premises are permitted within construction zones. These employees must complete annual safety training and be equipped with the appropriate type of personal protective equipment. There are the numerous hazards present on a construction site and all other university personnel are prohibited from entering these areas unless specifically invited and escorted by qualified University Facilities Management personnel.  When within construction sites it is the responsibility of the qualified escort to ensure that the visitor complies with all regulations required by the building contractor and those specified in the Occupational Safety and Health Act  - Title 29 CFR 1926 – Safety and Health Regulations for Construction (29 CFR 1926).
